Renew Your Canadian Passport

To renew your Canadian passport in Canada, all you need to provide is:

1. A completed form. You can download it from http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/passport/forms/pdf/PPTC054.pdf
2. Your most recent passport
3. Two recent identical photos by a commercial photographer.
4. Pay your passport fee. It is C$120 for 5 years passport, C$160 for 10 years passport

You can submit your application by mail or visit one of Service Canada or apply in person at one of the Passport Office. Here are some tips:

1. If it is an urgent or express request, you have to go to Passport Office in person.
2. If it is not an urgent, it’s still the quickest way to renew your passport at Passport Office. You can go there by yourself or somebody else can do it for you, but he or she must show his or her photo ID.
3. The passport photo usually costs C$26 at Wal-Mart, C$17 at Shopper Drug Mart and C$10 at few small photo studios. The best secret is that if you live in Toronto, ON, you can get your photo taken at Print2Go for C$5.99. Basically, you can get out of the subway station, get your passport photo taken, and go to the Passport Office in less than 10 minutes.
