My Translation of the Famous Chinese Song “Farewell”

The song “Farewell” is a well-known song in China. People used to sing it when they send friends to the battlefields. Nowadays, people sing it at graduation ceremony or at large gatherings. This song includes a lot of sentimental elements of China, such as colonnades, ancient roads, willows, and flutes. They are all beautifully integrated in the lyrics to express the feeling of sadness when good friends have to say goodbye.

Here is my translation of this beautiful song. I believe it’s the best version you can find so far. I did it!

This song was originally composed for Chinese language only. Some people may want to sing it in English. If you care less about the details of English translation, more about rhythm, here is a simplified version of my translation.
